About Me

Biography
 

Jessica is originally from Belleville, Ontario and attended Centennial Secondary School where she became very active in the music and theatre department, and regularly participated in the Quinte Rotary Music Festival, winning the Silver Pitcher in 2006 (the highest woodwind honour).  She decided in grade 11 to pursue music in University and began working towards her goal of being accepted into a music program.  She began taking lessons in Grade 12 with Gordon Craig, the clarinet professor at Queen's University and the director of the Quinte Symphony for over 20 years.  Under his guidance, she was accepted into the Queen's program and completed a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree, with a major in music and minor in psychology.  After attending Queen's, Jessica returned to Belleville and attended Loyalist College for the Recreation and Leisure Services program. 

 

Jessica currently performs for several long term care facilities in the area and is a regular performer for local weddings and private events. Jessica is the clarinet/saxophone instructor at Pinnacle Music Studios  in Belleville.  Jessica enjoys performing as a soloist, is active in the music theatre community in Prince Edward County, and playing tenor saxophone and clarinet in a funk band in Picton Ontario.

 

 

Bachelor of Arts Honours (BaH), Major in Music, Minor in Psychology
 

Jessica attended Queen's University in Kingston Ontario.  She completed a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree, with a major in music and a minor in psychology.

The music program consisted of a wide variety of musicianship courses including private lessons, music history, music theory, ethnomusicology, wind/clarinet ensembles, teacher training, secondary instrument courses, conducting, choral ensemble, and more.  The psychology program included intro to psychology, social psychology, psychology over the lifespan, child development, abnormal psychology, sensation and perception, biopsychology, and more.

 

 

Recreation and Leisure Services (RALS)


In addition to a BaH, Jessica also obtained a Recreation and Leisure Services diploma, with Dean's List status (a combined average of 80% or above in all courses), from Loyalist College in Belleville, Ontario.  The combination of Degree and Diploma disciplines makes her an effective and engaging performer in  Long Term Care Facilities.
